DAN Education Offers Instructors Three Ways to Stay Current

DAN Instructors and Instructor Trainers Can Update in Person or Online

When the 2010 Guidelines for Resuscitation were released and changed the way CPR is to be administered, DAN Education saw it as an opportunity to revise and enhance the education programs it offered divers. Training materials for all DAN Education courses are currently undergoing a redesign, updating materials to include new information, videos and interactive extras. The new course materials are expected to be released later this spring.

With the extensive changes being made to the courses, DAN Instructors and Instructor Trainers who teach DAN programs must complete a mandatory update to stay current. In an effort to make the completion of these updates as convenient as possible, DAN is offering its professionals three update options.

  • In-person updates: As the format that allows for the most interaction between participants, DAN is scheduled to hit the road and offer updates at several locations throughout 2012.

  • Online updates: For those who prefer to complete updates online, that option will be available soon.

  • WebEx conferences: This option melds the best of both worlds. A live, real-time online conference, this option allows Instructors and Instructor Trainers to complete the update from a local location while still interacting in real time. Four WebEx conferences are currently scheduled, and the debut presentation takes place on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012. Pre-registration is required.

All updates must be completed by June 30, 2012, as full implementation of the new DAN training programs is required by July 1, 2012.
